Ingredients
For meatballs:
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • ½ cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup dried bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon parsley, minced
For BBQ sauce:
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
To make meatballs:
  1. Preheat oven to 400F. Spray a large cookie sheet with cooking spray
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mix together onion, garlic, egg, bread crumbs, salt, pepper and parsley
  3. Add in ground beef and mix gently until combined
  4. Form into 1 inch balls (about 30, 1 inch meatballs) and place on prepared cookie sheet
  5. Bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until meatballs are browned and cooked through
To make BBQ sauce:
  1. Mix together all ingredients in a medium sauce pan and stir well
  2. Bring to a boil over medium high heat and then turn the heat down to medium low and simmer for 25 minutes, stirring constantly
  3. Add meatballs to BBQ sauce and stir until they are coated with the sauce for 10 minutes
  4. Serve if desired
