Healthy Food List for Students

March 2, 2020 By Yummiest Food Leave a Comment

Being a student can be so demanding and exhausting due to the numerous work, various assignments, and other extra-curricular activities you must engage yourself, and this leaves the student with so little time to eat. Most students eat everything they can find to get rid of the hunger without thinking of its advantages, either it serves as brainfuel, or it is harmful to the body.

What Are Healthy Foods?

Healthy foods are products that help improve the overall well being of the human. Consequently, the performance and productivity of any college student are proportional to the food consumption and the kind of products the student consumes, as it is said, you are what you eat. Poor eating habits and unhealthy food can result in illness and difficulty in concentration.

Hence, many students hope to improve their concentration and other abilities in school. Therefore, the need for healthy food is a major concern. Here is a list of healthy food and the right brain food for college students.

Whole Grain Meal

The brain consumes a lot of glucose for optimal performance. This glucose is the smaller molecules of carbohydrates (energy giving food). Therefore, a lot of glucose in your meal is so crucial as the best source of energy for the brain. Whole grain meals consist of long-chains of complex glucose, which takes time to be broken down and slowly release glucose over time.

Interestingly, whole grain meals contain fibers, which reduces a high sugar level in the blood. Also, whole grain products make blood flow freely to the brain through the veins and also to other vital organs of the body.

Sickness had made me tell a friend to write my paper for me because I had overworked myself without paying attention to the food I eat, which eventually leads to a serious headache.

The Omega-3-Fatty Acid-Rich Foods

The Omega-3-fatty acid food is food that contains long unsaturated fatty acids, otherwise known as the good fat or essential fatty acids, which are vital for the brain and the body system. Foods rich in these forms of fatty acid include Salmon fish, shrimps, catfish, and some vegetables like spinach, soybeans oil, Almond, and so on.

These essential fatty acids are important for the proper functioning of the brain and heart. It allows the efficient flow of oxygen to the brain and eventually prevents cerebral hypoxia (brain injury due to lack of oxygen). Additionally, omega-3-fatty acids are good food for the heart as they contain no cholesterol. Cholesterol is a solid fat that narrows the artery of the heart leading to hypertension.

Berries and Other Fruits

Most forms of berries, which include strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries, are very useful for mental health and helps the brain to work well. A study reveals that berries help to forget about old age mental diseases and improve memory. Blueberries and blackberries majorly remove free radicals from the body cells. Free radicals are toxic substances that cause the stress of body cells, which cause aging, cancer, and other oxidative stress-induced diseases.

Furthermore, fruits and vegetables contain antioxidants that save the brain from damage and the body from sickness.

This healthy food list improved mental health and helped me to do my homework with ease and maximum concentration.

Hence, try to make the above list of these healthy food products a part of your daily diet.
