If you are like me? then you will appreciate a good cup of real coffee.
This is not just a once in a while treat for me but a daily necessity. I don’t know about you, but the day just never really seems right until I’ve had that hit of caffeine.
To satisfy this need, while I cannot get out to the local coffee shop, I have had to get myself an automatic espresso machine.
Why you may ask, did I choose an automatic espresso machine over a manual one or even a pod option? Well this was no easy decision to make and I did several months of in depth research and thanks to friends a lot of testing.
So I thought there may well be others facing the same dilemma and looking for some advice. So to save you from months of research, I will share the reasons why you need an automatic espresso machine.
5 Reasons to buy an automatic coffee machine
Ultimately after all the back and forth, hours upon hours of research, and consuming more coffee than a Starbucks taste tester, I chose an automatic machine over the other options available.
Here are the 5 reasons why…
1 – Fresh Coffee
The first and possibly most important reason for buying a bean to cup coffee machine, is freshly ground coffee each time you fancy a brew.
You see, with a bean to cup machine you are not just getting coffee maker, but also an integrated grinder. This means all you need to do is add whole coffee beans in the top and it will grind them freshly and on demand.
Freshly ground coffee beans will have loads more flavour and aroma. You really can taste the difference.
Just look out for a an automatic espresso machines that have an integrated conical burr grinder such as these from Sage.
2 – Impress your friends
Do you often or did you used to meet your friends in the local coffee shop for a latte and slice?
Yeah, me too.
Well if you want to try and recreate this at home, and impress your friends then a fully automatic coffee machine could be just the thing for you.
With a fully automatic coffee machine, and I am talking about the kind of one that will froth the milk for you, you can easily make your coffee shop favourites.
Coffee at home just got a lot better, now you and your mates can enjoy a Latte, Cappuccino or even Caffe Macchiato with just a touch of a button.
3 – Full range of drinks
With the mid-range bean to cup coffee machines and above, you get the option to make pretty much any drink you fancy.
Most will come with a full selection menu to choose from, plus the ability to program your own options. Which gives you the option to nurture your inner barista and get really creative.
There is no end to the coffees you can make with the right coffee maker.
4 – Save money (this one is a surprise)
Saving money, yes you read that correctly, you really can save money with a fully automatic coffee machine.
This maybe a surprise to many of you, especially when you are faced with an initial outlay. But let’s do the math…
If you daily coffee costs £3 ($3.50), and you have one each working day, then you are spending, in an average week £15 on coffee. That’s a staggering £780 a year, and that doesn’t include the occasional weekend treat.
A bag of really good quality coffee beans will cost around £10, this is enough for 22 cups on average. So you are looking at 45p a drink. 5 times a week, 52 weeks a year is just under £120.
So in one year alone you could be saving £650+, more than enough to pay for the machine and any extra equipment you need such as fancy latte cups.
Then its just saving money year after year, what could you do with an extra £650 each year?
5 – Convenience
Another huge factor for me is convenience, now I am working more from home, I am not in town as often.
The local coffee shop is just too far to be able to nip out to on a whim, so not really an option.
So having the ability to make a good cup of coffee at home is a god send.
And it’s not just the convenience of having it at home, it’s actually easier than making a cup of instant coffee. I simply have to place a cup under the nozzle and push a button.
A final thought
If you are going to commit to having more coffee at home, and invest in a good machine. Then you really should give some serious thought to a fully automatic machine.
You will be surprised just how simple to use they are, and even though they may look a little space age, you really only need to push a button and you’re away.
You easily enjoy a great cup of coffee every day, and save money at the same time.
