14 Grilling Tips Every Barbeque Enthusiast Must Know

October 27, 2021 By Yummiest Food Leave a Comment

A perfect barbeque demands a lot of skills and patience. It takes practice to figure out the right flavors and grill setup. Any beginner can get overwhelmed by the different things involved in the barbeque process. Whether finding the right ingredients or choosing the suitable products like Blackstone Griddle, you have to be cautious of what you choose. Don’t worry; here are 14 grilling tips that will help you master the art of BBQ grilling, even if you are a beginner.

1. Prepare your grill

This one is for newbies to BBQ or those who have recently purchased a new grill. Build an adequate fire and let it roar for 45 minutes to an hour. It seals up the pores of the metal and incinerates any leftovers and oil, grease, metal shavings, and any other junk. It is also an excellent idea if you haven’t used your cooker in a long time and don’t clean it regularly, resulting in rancid grease or mold on the inside.

2. Put wooden skewers in water

If you’re serving kebabs this summer, soak the wooden skewers in cold water for some time before you use them to avoid burning. If you are using metal skewers, wipe them with a piece of paper towel dipped in vegetable oil so the food won’t stick on them. If you’ll be doing a lot of grilling, soak many skewers for an hour, drain them, freeze them, and pull one out when needed.

3. Never forget to marinate

Undoubtedly the most crucial grilling tip is to marinate the meat! Marinades can significantly influence the flavor and texture of the meat. Learning to marinate will not only add a tonne of flavor to your barbecue masterpieces, but it will also help you create juicier tender meat.

4. Change the temperature for different meat types

The type of grill you use should be determined by the kind of food you’re preparing. Expensive cuts of beef, such as sirloin, rib-eye, and fillet steaks, should be cooked quickly at high heat to sear the outside layer and maximize flavor without overcooking. When trying to cook things like chicken or sausages, high heat won’t help because they tend to burn on the exterior but remain raw inside. To guarantee an even beautiful cook, take your time and use different temperature zones on the grill.

5. Let the meat take its time to cook

You can get tender and more succulent meat from the meat cooked gently at lower temperatures. It will take a little more time and effort, but the results are well worth it. You will have more control if you set up different cooking zones and use water containers. If you plan a big barbeque party, it makes more sense to use a bigger grill like a Blackstone griddle to create different top sections. That way, you can grill more food simultaneously and give each item the grilling time it deserves.

6. Wrap all the veggies in foil

A perfect barbeque is incomplete without veggies. Grilled Veggies are not only delicious, but they also add more flavor to the meat. Use a veggie rack or tinfoil to hold them together. That way, they get perfectly cooked and don’t fall in the charcoal under the grill.

7. Light your grill earlier

It takes roughly 30 minutes to light the grill and reach it to a cooking temperature. Don’t wait until your guests arrive, and then start the grill. Light it before getting started because they’ll be lingering and snacking before the main event. You don’t want them to be before you even serve the main dish of your party. Start grilling the meat as soon as the coals are ready, and keep the grilled meal warm in a low oven, lightly covered with foil if required.

8. Precook some items

Some foods, such as sausages, benefit from being cooked ahead of time to keep them juicy. Poach them in stock until they’re done, then grill them until brown. Another alternative is to start things on the grill, transfer them to a baking dish and finish cooking in the oven.

9. Avoid disposable grills

Don’t spend your time with disposable barbecues unless you don’t have the space to store one. They may appear to be a low-cost convenience, but they are little, lack consistent heat, don’t last long, and wind up being more trouble than aid. Instead, you should invest in a tiny, moderately priced barbeque like a Blackstone griddle to get the best BBQ experience.

10. Appropriately season the meat

Big, thick steaks require a lot of seasoning, so season them liberally before grilling with salt, pepper, and any rub. A decent rule of thumb for home cooks is to salt the meat twice as much as you believe you need.

11. Try creating hot zones

Bank coals in the center of a kettle grill. Leave one burner on high and the other on medium on a gas grill. Sear the food in the center of the grill, where the heat is maximum, then move it to the outer borders to finish cooking without burning.

12. Make burgers too

Burgers prepared from scratch are superior. Even if you make them from scratch with nothing but salt, pepper, and high-quality beef, they will outperform anything you can buy in the store. Whether you like your burgers pink in the center or cooked through, choose mince with a lot of fat or ask your butcher for minced flank or chuck. You’ll get juicy, flavorful burgers.

13. Do not put the food on the grill when it’s lit

Putting meat on the grill right after it’s been ignited will result in burnt outsides and raw insides. Apart from steaks and quick-cooking chops, you should cook all other foods (such as chicken drumsticks and sausages) after the flames have died down and the embers have become white.

14. Spend more time with your guests

Barbecues are as much about social gatherings as they are about the cuisine. Don’t stress yourself by attempting to make too much at once. All you need is one or two meat dishes, a veggie alternative, a couple of sides, some bread, and some drinks. It’s essential to spend more time with your guests; after all, you are the host. As much as you want to direct your full attention to the BBQ, your guest might feel lost as you aren’t around.

The secret behind a successful BBQ party lies with not only grilling the delicious meat but enjoying your party too. Plan your party so you can be a part of the party and not just hover around your grill.
