If you live in one of the 11 states (plus Washington, D.C. technically) that permits recreational cannabis, you have a freedom that other Americans don’t have. You can walk into any licensed dispensary as an adult and purchase a certain number of cannabis edibles.
22 states permit MMJ. In such locations, you need to apply for a medical marijuana card to buy weed legally. Those who don’t meet the criteria can perhaps try the best CBD edibles on the market. This is perfectly fine if you don’t want an intoxicating high.
However, it is a shame if you miss out on the THC experience. That is, as long as you use cannabis edibles responsibly! Remember, go low and slow at first, and wait patiently for the effects.
If you have some experience in the use of weed, perhaps you should consider making edibles at home. We offer a trio of great recipes to sink your teeth into. Remember, if you want to avoid getting high, stick to CBD-infused edibles.
You could combine the following recipes into a three-course dinner. There is research that suggests marijuana may help with sleep. Therefore, this is a worthy feast if you aim to go to bed soon afterward.
1 – Marijuana Ice-Cream
Those seeking a cannabis edibles sweet treat usually opt for the tried and tested hash brownie. How about eating a regular brownie topped with cannabis ice-cream? Here are the ingredients:
- Up to 2.5 grams of ground cannabis, though it depends on your tolerance
- 500ml of cream
- 75 grams of sugar or a sweetener like Stevia
- 2 ripe bananas
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil or butter
- 2 tablespoons of rum
- 5 tablespoons of honey
- A pinch of salt
Heat the cream in a casserole dish or wide saucepan. Keep it at medium heat, and stir with a wooden spoon. Add the sugar, salt, and butter while continually stirring. Add the ground marijuana and continue to stir.
Next, chop the bananas into slices and crush with a fork. Add it to the mixture, along with the honey and rum. At this point, you should put everything into a food processor and blend until smooth and creamy.
Switch off the heat, and pour your creamy concoction into a container. Place it in the freezer once it is cooled. Leave it in the freezer for at least four hours, and preferably overnight.
2 – Lobster Curry with Added Marijuana!
How do you take a decadent dish and make it even more awesome? You turn it into a cannabis recipe, of course! If you love marijuana and adore lobster, this is a combination you’ll go crazy for.
Here are the ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons of marijuana-infused coconut oil, or cannaoil
- 1 minced garlic clove
- Up to 12 ounces of lobster meat
- 1 teaspoon of granulated onion
- A teaspoon of Jamaican curry powder
- A pinch of cayenne pepper
- 25 cups of chicken broth
- 5 cups of coconut milk
- Salt to taste if you prefer
Melt your cannaoil in a skillet on medium heat. Add the lobster and cook for approximately two minutes only. Add the garlic and curry powder while stirring, before including the cayenne and onion. Stir in the chicken broth and coconut milk and slightly reduce the heat. After cooking for three minutes, your lobster is ready to serve. You can add extra salt if you like.
3 – Cannabis-Infused Foie Gras
Now that we have sorted out dessert and the main course, how about creating a starter cannabis recipe? The first thing you need is infused glycerin tincture, which involves the use of up to an ounce of marijuana (at your discretion) and a quart of food-grade glycerin, preferably organic.
Preheat your oven to 230 degrees Fahrenheit, and place the cannabis on a baking sheet. Keep it in the oven for 30 minutes to ensure it is decarboxylated. Preheat a slow cooker and put in the glycerin. We recommend adding a little water to account for evaporation. Add your decarbed weed and stir. Cover the mixture and allow it to cook for up to three hours. When it is done, strain it through a sieve and cheesecloth to get rid of unwanted plant material.
The pate involves the following ingredients:
- 25 cups of Sauternes
- 25 cups of garlic confit
- 25 cups of shallot confit
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 5 sheets of bloomed gelatin
- 2 tablespoons of infused glycerin tincture
- A pound of foie gras lobe. It will help if you separate it into pieces of approximately two inches
Combine all of the above in a food processor and blend until you have a smooth and buttery texture. Serve with a glass of any wine you like, and crispy bread of your choosing.
