How to Make the Perfect Coffee at Home

January 27, 2022 By Yummiest Food Leave a Comment

Coffee

You can tune into the energy for the whole day just by having a good cup of coffee in the morning. Nobody enjoys going to wait for those extra minutes at the coffee shop before going to work. Worse still, what do you do when your favorite coffee shop is not yet open for the day?

In the US, for example, your average cup of coffee costs $2.70. If you know how to make some coffee at home, you can imagine how many dollars you’d accumulate in a month. In this article, we will show you how to make that cup of coffee. Furthermore, check Jiale Coffee for all your coffee-related questions.

How to make coffee at home

There are three different methods of making your coffee drink at home. They are 1) the pour-over method, 2) The French press method, and 3) the Drip coffee method. The drip coffee method has remained the favorite method for many people.

First off, 1 tablespoon of ground coffee should go for an 8-ounce cup of coffee. Then, let’s quickly consider how we can make your perfect coffee blend using any of these three methods.

1.    The pour-over method

Depending on your preference, you can make your cup of coffee using this method through the following steps:

  1. If your beans are still whole, grind them uniformly. Your end-product should be similar to granulated eatable salt.
  2. Heat some water in a kettle until it boils.
  3. Place your filter in the brewer and rinse it using some hot water. This gets rid of the papery leftover on the filter and keeps the brewer warm- and your coffee too for much longer. Make sure to pour the water you used after rinsing.
  4. You can now add grounds to the filter, keeping the surface leveled.
  5. Once your water is boiling, remove it from the heat and leave it for about one minute. A temperature range between 363K and 369k is just perfect.
  6. Then, slowly pour your hot water, just enough to completely saturate the grounds- it gets puffy at this point. This is also known as the bloom pour and allows the coffee to de-gas.
  7. After the bloom pours, wait for about 30 minutes. Then slowly pour in the remaining water, never allowing your dripper to fill up.
  8. Allow for about 3 minutes to brew, remove the filter, and your coffee is ready to be served.

2.   French press method

Do you want to do it in the European style? Then check out the following steps.

  1. As in the pour-over method above, heat some water to about 363K. You should also make sure your beans are ground, but they should be coarser this time. Note the particles should be uniform.
  2. Put your desired amount of ground coffee in the French press. Once the water is sufficiently hot, add it to your ground in the French press and stir the mixture thoroughly.
  3. The mixture will take about 4 minutes to brew. To separate the coffee from the grounds, plunge the press.
  4. Once this is done, you can serve your coffee as desired. Also, you must note that the longer your coffee stays in the press, the more bitter it gets.

3.    The drip press method

This method is very simple and, depending on the size of your machine; you can make up to 10 cups of coffee at a time. The following few steps are all it takes:

  1. Pour your grounds into a filter basket and place them in the drip machine. The water spout should be swiveled over the grounds’ center.
  2. Pour some clean water into the back of the drip press machine. Then switch on the machine.
  3. Allow for some time for the coffee to start bubbling. After it’s done brewing, the bubbling will stop, turn off the machine. Note that allowing the coffee to sit in the machine after it is done brewing will make your coffee taste burnt.
  4. Your coffee is then ready to be served, simply turn it into a cup and serve to your style. Endeavor to keep the machine clean by filtering a mixture of water and vinegar through it. It helps you get rid of any collected residue.

Conclusion

Nothing beats the joy that comes with learning how to do something new. Knowing how to make your own coffee is of a bigger benefit since you can brew your coffee as desired from the comfort of your home.

Furthermore, you’ll save some of that money you’d have spent at the coffee shop. Finally, the three methods described above are easy and can be done by about anyone. So, do well to try making tomorrow’s coffee at home; you’ll be happy you did.
