My recent trip to London opened my eyes to the incredible array of culinary delights on offer. From traditional English pubs serving up fish and chips to Michelin-starred restaurants offering contemporary cuisine, there truly is something for every taste and budget. However, one of the highlights of the trip was experiencing the diverse and flavorful Indian food offered in the city’s bustling restaurant scene. In fact, London boasts more Indian restaurants than any other city in the world – including Delhi! I was blown away by dishes such as lamb rogan josh, tandoori chicken, and butter chicken; not to mention the fluffy naan bread and rich lassis. Whether it’s trying a new dish or revisiting a favorite, London’s Indian food scene is not to be missed.
One restaurant which we loved was Tindli; a truly authentic Indian restaurant in Croydon. The food was so incredibly tasty that when we arrived back home, we simply had to try and recreate some dishes. So without further ado, here is our Tindli-inspired Chicken Korma recipe:

Ingredients:
– 1 lb chicken breast, cubed
– 1 onion, chopped
– 1 cup yogurt
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tbsp ginger, minced
– 1 tsp cumin
– 1 tsp coriander
– 1/2 tsp turmeric
– 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
– 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
– 1 tbsp tomato paste
– 1 cup chicken broth
– 1/2 cup heavy cream
– 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped
Instructions:
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the yogurt, garlic, ginger, cumin, coriander, turmeric, black pepper, and cayenne pepper and cook for 1 minute.
- Add the tomato paste and chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
- Let the chicken korma simmer for 10 minutes, then stir in the heavy cream and cilantro.
- Serve over steamed rice or naan bread. Enjoy!
