3 Best Recipes for Students

August 5, 2021 By Yummiest Food Leave a Comment

Simple recipes for students are essential to surviving at university, whether you live in a dorm or in an apartment – there would only be a kitchen. Here we’ve compiled everything you’ll need, from simple meals to party food ideas. We won’t detail how to make porridge or pasta, but we will give you ideas on how to make it into a more complete and delicious meal.

In general, a student who is thinking about cooking something for themselves, as in most other situations, faces two challenges: the need to spend money (especially true for those who need to pay off a student loan) and time. But if, for example, there is a way out for dealing with academic problems by hiring an online essay writer, then with cooking you either have to pay a lot (or hope for discounts) and/or spend time cooking. In this article, we’ve tried to compile dishes with the best ratio of time and money spent to taste.

Vegetable Soup with Rice

Ingredients:

  • 5 liters of vegetable broth or regular filtered water;
  • 1 bell pepper;
  • 2 tomatoes;
  • 1 onion;
  • 3 tbsp. long rice;
  • 1 pinch of ground paprika;
  • 2 tbsp. lean oil;
  • fresh greens.

Peel the onion, finely chop, fry in well-heated oil for 3-4 minutes in a thick-walled pan. Make sure that the vegetable does not burn, otherwise it will add bitterness to the soup.

Add chopped greens, chunks of tomatoes without skin. Continue to fry for 2-3 minutes. After adding the pieces of sweet bell pepper – fry the mixture for another 1 minute.

Pour in broth or water. Wait for the liquid to boil rapidly and pour the previously washed groats into it. Cover with a lid. Boil the dish from the moment of boiling again for a quarter of an hour on medium heat. From time to time stir the soup.

Add salt and paprika to taste. Stir the soup again, turn it off and leave it on the stove to cool for 20 minutes.

To make this dish even more economical, you should cook it in the season of cheap vegetables. Or use frozen produce from your parents’ garden for the soup.

Pita cakes with egg and onion

Ingredients:

  • 2 thin pita bread;
  • 70g of scallions;
  • 120g of fat sour cream;
  • 12 eggs;
  • salt;
  • spices;
  • vegetable oil.

Boil 10 hard-boiled eggs. Pour cold water over them and leave to cool. Well rinse, dry and finely chop green onions.

Peel the cooled eggs, grate them finely. In a bowl combine all ingredients for stuffing. These are grated eggs, chopped onions, sour cream, spices, salt. Mix them well.

Cut each pita into 4-6 pieces. On one edge of the blanks put the filling and roll them up tightly with neat rolls. Put the future cakes on a baking tray greased with vegetable oil. Grease them with slightly whipped eggs. Bake in the oven at a high temperature until a nice brown crust appears. This simple recipe for every day can be slightly modified by experimenting with the filling.

Spaghetti with meat sauce

Ingredients:

  • 250 g of any minced meat;
  • 1 onion;
  • 3 garlic cloves;
  • 160g melted cheese;
  • 3 tbsp. of tomato paste;
  • 250 g of pasta;
  • salt;
  • oil for frying.

Boil any pasta until cooked. Spaghetti is best for this dish.

Fry small pieces of onion in heated oil. Add minced meat to it. Fry the mass until the meat is ready. Lastly, put grated melted cheese in a pan.

Pour some water. Add some garlic and tomato paste. Salt the mixture. Cook it for 8-9 minutes under a lid.
