Easter Popcorn Balls

March 28, 2022 By Yummiest Food Leave a Comment

Easter Popcorn Balls are old fashioned holiday treat made with buttery popcorn and sweet marshmallows! They are perfect for Spring or just about any holiday and are so much fun to make!

Easter Popcorn Balls

Are you looking for a new easy Easter treat recipe?

These popcorn balls are super simple to make and you can customize them for any holiday or party theme with food coloring. Easter popcorn balls are soft and chewy and sprinkles or food coloring can really dress up the classic popcorn balls.

You only need a handful of ingredients for these popcorn balls and you already have most of them in your pantry:

  • Popped popcorn
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Butter
  • Food coloring

How to Make Easter Popcorn Balls?

  • Line your countertop with parchment paper or wax paper, set aside
  • Work with one color at a time
  • In a large microwave-safe bowl, place 2 tablespoons butter and 2 cups mini marshmallows, microwave for 45 seconds
  • Remove from microwave and add pink food coloring and stir until butter is melted
  • Stir in 4 cups popcorn and mix well so all popcorn is coated
  • Let sit for a few minutes, until you are able to touch it without burning your fingers, and then spray your hands with cooking spray and shape a handful of popcorn into 3-4 inch balls before they cool
  • Repeat the process with the other two colors of food coloring

Why you will love this recipe?

  • This is a great way to get the kids involved in the kitchen, mine love adding their favorite colors and sprinkles.
  • These simple and delicious popcorn balls come together in minutes for the perfect snack or sweet treat and are made with marshmallows instead of corn syrup!
  • The marshmallows make the shaping just like the corn syrup version, but the balls do not get rock hard like traditional popcorn balls.

How to Store Popcorn Balls?

These easy marshmallow popcorn balls are best fresh or eaten within a day or two. If you keep them stored in an airtight container they should last about a week.

Sometimes desserts are as much fun to make as they are to eat and this is one of those recipes.

They are especially fun wrapped up in cellophane and given out individually for a special treat that kids will love! Enjoy!
