- 1 pound lean ground beef
- ½ cup onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup dried bread crumbs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon parsley, minced
- 1 cup water
- 2 cups ketchup
- ½ cup light brown sugar
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon ground mustard
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Preheat oven to 400F. Spray a large cookie sheet with cooking spray
- In a large mixing bowl, mix together onion, garlic, egg, bread crumbs, salt, pepper and parsley
- Add in ground beef and mix gently until combined
- Form into 1 inch balls (about 30, 1 inch meatballs) and place on prepared cookie sheet
- Bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until meatballs are browned and cooked through
- Mix together all ingredients in a medium sauce pan and stir well
- Bring to a boil over medium high heat and then turn the heat down to medium low and simmer for 25 minutes, stirring constantly
- Add meatballs to BBQ sauce and stir until they are coated with the sauce for 10 minutes
- Serve if desired
