Looking for a well-balanced, delicious, and meat-based dinner that you can prepare within minutes? A pork and vegetable stir-fry is the perfect dish for you!
Pork is a source of high-quality protein, vitamins, and minerals. Adding it to your menu allows you to enjoy more nutritious and diverse meals. The best thing about pork is that it’s usable in a variety of recipes, some of which are quite easy and fast to make. If you’re running short on time but still want to prepare a healthy dish, this pork and vegetable stir-fry recipe will come in handy.
How to Prepare Pork and Vegetable Stir-fry
When cooking any red meat, pork included, it’s essential to ensure that you cook it thoroughly to make it safe for consumption. Pork should cook to a temperature of at least 145°F to be safe to eat. A stir-fry recipe involves a short cooking time, so how do you manage this with your pork?
First, use pork cuts that are lean, tender, and boneless. Pork chops or tenderloins are great for this. Then, cut them into small, thin slices. This allows them to heat up quickly and get ready faster. Keep in mind that the pork should be cooked over high heat. Use Crumble’s non-stick pot to ensure your pork doesn’t stick to the bottom or burn.
To improve on the tenderness, cut your pork across the grain. Well-cooked pork slices should be opaque on the inside, with a pinkish tint. For the vegetables, it’s important to cook them until tender but don’t overdo them.
To ensure that you spend as little time as possible cooking your pork and vegetable stir-fry, prepare the ingredients beforehand. This means slicing the pork and cutting up the veggies, and storing them in containers in the freezer. Preparing this dish will take even less time if you already have leftover vegetables that you can throw into the pot.
To enjoy this recipe more, you can try various vegetable and sauce combinations every time you make it. Broccoli, bell peppers, mushrooms, and vinegar are some other ingredients you can consider to switch up flavors.
Can You Store Pork and Vegetable Stir-fry For Later Use?
If you have leftovers from your meal or want to store some for later meals, freeze your stir-fry. Put it in freezer bags or an airtight container after allowing it to cool down. After storing it in the freezer, it’ll maintain its flavor and nutrients within the first 2-3 weeks.
Remember to thaw first after removing it from the freezer and before reheating. If you keep your stir-fry in the fridge instead, it’s recommended to eat it within 2-3 days to avoid poisoning.
