September 4, 2020 By Yummiest Food Leave a Comment

It is a rare person that doesn’t enjoy their drink or TV. Television shows have their fair share of drink enthusiasts. Some of the top cocktails and mocktails in the world are also enjoyed by your favorite characters on TV shows. Here are some of the top TV shows with the best tipples featured in them.

Just like the books a person reads, the choice of drink can shed a lot of light on the character. It is amazing to go through some of these classic TV shows and witness how drink choices have evolved over time, reflecting the times and the culture we live in.

Remember to sip and not gulp and not get too carried away.

1. Sex and the City

Mention Cosmopolitan and inevitably the image you have in mind is Carrie Bradshaw and her love for the drink. In fact, the ladies of the iconic show are partly responsible for Cosmopolitan’s fame as they were seen sipping this delightful pink concoction at any given opportunity.

Here’s how you can make Cosmopolitan at home.

Fill up a cocktail shaker with ice. Now pour ½ ounces of vodka in the shaker followed by 1 ounce of cranberry juice, ½ ounce of Grand Mariner and a ½ ounce of lime juice.

Shake well for about 30 seconds until it’s chilled and glistening. Now strain into a martini glass, garnish with lime or orange rind and enjoy with your favorite episode of Sex and the City.

You will need to invest in a good quality cocktail shaker if you want to shake up some great cocktails. Here’s a selection of the finest from bestcocktailshaker.com.

2. Better Call Saul

Better Call Saul is another legendary show, the prequel to Breaking Bad set in New Mexico. You can guess correctly the show is partial to Tequila. If you have great observation skills, you may even have seen a fancy bottle of Zafiro Añejo complete with an agave shaped stopper.

Making your own tequila might be too much trouble but if you are keen then you can surely invest in your own Tequila Making Kit. Many distillers sell these kits at an affordable price.

The kit includes the perfect ingredients and the recipe too with raw agave syrup and his tequila ingredient kit includes the ingredients and recipe to take you right across the border and into Mexico! Make tequila at home using organic raw agave syrup, yeast and clear instructions.

3. Mad Men

Mad Men is a classic show that has made a comeback in recent years. Don Draper is now pretty much a household name and the drink that he commonly orders has also made a resurgence. It is a classic that has stood the test of time but thanks to Mad Men it is being ordered again by the younger crowd.

Here’s what you need to make Old Fashioned:

A teaspoon or two of simple syrup, 3-5 dashes of Angostura bitters (easily available), 2 ounces mid-range bourbon, a 2-inch piece of orange peel.

Add simple syrup, bitters and whiskey into an old fashioned glass, stir well and add ice cubes. Again stir a couple of times to chill and then garnish with orange peel or maraschino cherry.

4. Gossip Girl

The characters in Gossip Girl are timeless. So are the cocktails they sipped while conspiring and conniving. While the show featured a range of drinks from champagne, to Blue Lagoon to Cosmo, Scotch etc. But Blair Waldorf seems to be partial to Gin Martinis.

Here’s how to make yours:

Pour 2 ounces of gin, 1 ounce vermouth in a shaker filled with ice cubes. Stir vigorously with a cocktail spoon and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish to your liking.

Classy, just like you!
